![]() ![]() So, not only did I get to visit Rosie, but also see 677 in person. My dad passed away at just 41 years old unfortunately way back in 1992. It was just a weird, but happy coincidence that I was headed to a museum for work purposes that also has a plane that my dad probably wrenched on 50 years ago. I recently re-located a picture of this very plane in my dad’s photo album from his time in Thailand. This has nothing to do with IL-2 of course, it’s simply a personal connection to me, as one of the planes at Yankee Air Museum is a B-52D with airframe code 677. I then showed pics of my dad in the USAF while he was stationed in Thailand during Vietnam working on and flying in B-52Ds. Some of you tracked my travel progress and I added other fun fun hints as to what direction I was headed. However, none of you would have known this, but my dad’s name was Glen with one “n” not two, just like Glen Campbell. This was an inside hint as to where I was headed. However, I posted a video by that featured a duet with Glen Campbell. In my silly post I referenced the song On the Road Again by Willie Nelson. ![]() Either way, more bombers would surely add additional fun to the Great Battles series. ![]() This is my current central question on this topic. Maybe we can make some flyable or maybe we can only make them AI controlled. I know the community would like more flyable bombers someday. As I consider future projects for the team, I decided to make a push on the research front to see if making any medium US bomber possible. Not just in the modeling, but also in the amount of research needed. They recently agreed to allow me access their B-25D called Rosie’s Reply It’s no secret that I would like to build a medium bomber such as the B-25 or the B-26 as flyable. I did this for fun while I made a long road-trip to an air museum in Michigan called Yankee Air Museum. ![]() Recently I made a post in the General Discussion section called On the Road Again.
